(“After Hello,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) places a high premium on the privacy and security of our clients' information. This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which we collect, use, and protect personal information obtained through our website (https://www.afterhello.com). It is important to note that this policy pertains exclusively to online data collection and does not address any offline interactions.

Children's Privacy

Our Site and Services are not designed for or targeted at children, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under 21 years of age. Protecting the privacy of young ones is paramount to us. In the event that we become aware of a user under the age of 21 providing Personal Information, we will take necessary measures to prohibit that individual from accessing our Site and Services.

Data Collection from Our Clients

At After Hello, Inc., we respect your privacy and value the trust you place in us when you share your personal details. We collect specific information from you to provide tailored and high-quality services. The type of information we collect includes:

Educational Background; Professional Occupation; Income Bracket; Stature and Build Details (including height and body type); Physical Attributes (such as hair and eye color); Parental Status (whether you have or desire children); A Personal Photograph; Demographic Details like your postal code, dating preferences, religious beliefs, ethnic background, and hobbies; Additional information such as your preferences in a partner, lifestyle choices, value systems, and other self-disclosed details.

You are also invited to provide a succinct personal biography, highlighting passions and personal interests, which will assist in creating a compelling profile for potential matches.

Sensitive Personal Information

Certain information we collect — including your religious beliefs and ethnic background — is treated as sensitive personal information under applicable law. We will not include your sensitive personal information in any disclosure to a matchmaker or dating professional in one of our Matchmaking Networks unless you have separately and affirmatively opted in to that specific sharing, which you may do or withdraw at any time by contacting info@afterhello.com. This opt-in requirement applies to all clients nationwide, including residents of Texas and Louisiana. If you are a resident of New Jersey, your sensitive personal information will not be included in any disclosure to a Matchmaking Network under any circumstances, including with your consent, consistent with New Jersey law.

How We Identify Potential Matches

As part of recruiting and identifying potential matches for our Clients, After Hello, Inc. may review publicly available information, including profiles and photographs posted on dating applications and other public websites, and may use commercially available search tools to help locate publicly available information associated with a photograph. We use this process to identify individuals who may be a good fit for a Client and to reach out to them, including through professional networking platforms, to ask whether they would like to be considered as a potential match. We do not use this process to make a final matchmaking decision, and anyone we contact this way is free to decline and ask not to be contacted again.

Information Collected at Checkout

When you purchase a product or service from After Hello, Inc., we collect the information necessary to complete and record that transaction. This includes your full legal name, billing address, email address, telephone number, the product or service purchased, the amount charged, and the date of the transaction.

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processor. After Hello, Inc. does not receive or store complete payment card numbers, security codes, or bank account numbers. Our records retain only the card brand, the final four digits of the card, and the transaction identifier assigned by the processor.

We use checkout information for the following purposes: completing your purchase and issuing receipts and order confirmations; scheduling sessions and delivering the services you purchased; accounting, bookkeeping, tax reporting, and financial audit; detecting and preventing fraud and responding to payment disputes and chargebacks; sending service-related communications about your purchase, including scheduling reminders, renewal notices, and changes to these policies; and meeting record-keeping obligations imposed by applicable law.

Marketing communications are governed separately by the Consent to Communication section of our Terms and Conditions, and you may opt out of those communications at any time. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages relating to a purchase you have made.

Profile Content and Materials Shared During Services

Delivering our services requires you to share personal content with us. Depending on the service you purchase, that content may include photographs, a written biography, partner preferences, relationship history, screenshots or message transcripts from dating applications, login credentials for dating applications where you have engaged us to manage them, your feedback following introductions, and notes recorded by your matchmaker or coach.

This content is used solely to deliver the services you purchased. Photographs and profile details are shared with prospective matches, matchmakers, and other participants in our Matchmaking Networks as described in this Privacy Policy. Coaching notes are treated as confidential and are subject to the confidentiality provisions set out in our Terms and Conditions.

Where you provide login credentials for a dating application, those credentials are stored in an access-controlled password manager, are made available only to the personnel assigned to your account, and are deleted at the conclusion of your engagement. We recommend that you change the password on any account you have shared with us once your engagement concludes.

Controlling Your Personal Information

As a valued client of After Hello, Inc., you have the authority to manage your personal data in the following ways: request to view the personal data we hold about you; update or correct any inaccuracies in your data; request the deletion of your personal information from our records; and express any concerns you have about our handling of your data.

Privacy and Information Usage

After Hello, Inc. will utilize your personal data primarily to deliver our services, such as processing transactions and sending service-related communications. We craft and manage dating profiles that are essential in our matchmaking services. This personal data is always accessible to you as our client.

Collaboration with Professional Matchmaking Networks

After Hello, Inc. participates in private, peer-run communities of independent matchmakers and dating professionals — including The Matchmakers Alliance, Professional Love Connectors, and other similar professional networks we may join or participate in from time to time (collectively, “Matchmaking Networks”) — dedicated to enhancing client experiences and expanding their possibilities in finding the perfect match. Matchmaking Networks are collaborations among independent businesses, not a single organization, and each may have its own membership criteria and confidentiality practices, which After Hello does not control. We take each Network's own practices into account in deciding what we share and with whom.

In our endeavor to offer a broader pool of potential matches, we may share relevant information — such as a photograph, first name, age, and match preferences — with other matchmakers and dating professionals who participate in these Matchmaking Networks, so that they can consider you as a potential match for their own clients, or assist us in identifying potential matches for you. We share only what is reasonably necessary for this purpose, and we take into account a given Network's own confidentiality practices when deciding what to share there.

Where sharing with a matchmaker or dating professional in one of these Matchmaking Networks would include your sensitive personal information (such as religious beliefs or ethnic background), that sharing occurs only with your separate opt-in consent, obtained apart from your general acceptance of this Privacy Policy. Furthermore, for purposes that align with legitimate business operations such as corporate audits, analytical assessments, consolidated reporting, and adherence to legal requirements, we may exchange information with other participants in these Matchmaking Networks. In instances where there is a breach of our service terms or reports of unlawful conduct, we may also share user information within the relevant Matchmaking Network to ensure the integrity of our services and the safety of our clients.

This collaboration underscores our commitment to upholding the highest standards of service and client satisfaction, all while strictly adhering to our Privacy Policy and respecting the confidentiality of our clients' information.

Service Providers and Third-Party Platforms

After Hello, Inc. relies on third-party software platforms and service providers to operate the business and deliver our services. Your information is disclosed to these providers only to the extent required for them to perform their function. Each provider is engaged under terms that require it to protect your information, to process it only on our instructions, and to refrain from using it for its own purposes. We do not sell your personal information for money.

The categories of providers we use are as follows: payment processing and billing, for card authorization, transaction records, refunds, and dispute handling; client relationship management and matchmaking database platforms, which hold client records, profiles, search notes, and introduction history; marketing automation, email delivery, and text message delivery platforms; scheduling and video conferencing platforms used for consultations and coaching sessions; website hosting, content management, and form submission tools; website analytics and advertising platforms, as described below; cloud storage, file sharing, and document collaboration services; electronic signature services used for service agreements; background screening vendors, where a screening is conducted; and professional advisors, including accountants, auditors, and legal counsel.

A current list of the named providers within these categories is available on request by contacting info@afterhello.com. Information shared with participants in our Matchmaking Networks is governed by the Collaboration with Professional Matchmaking Networks section above.

We may also disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case the recipient will remain bound by the commitments described in this Privacy Policy.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

After Hello, Inc. uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other automated or algorithmic tools to assist our matchmakers, coaches, and staff, as described in the Use of Artificial Intelligence section of our Terms and Conditions. These tools may process personal information you provide to us — for example, to transcribe or summarize a recorded call or meeting, to assist with drafting communications, or to support the recruiting and outreach process described in How We Identify Potential Matches above — and are supplied to us by third-party vendors who are contractually restricted from using your information for their own purposes. These tools assist After Hello, Inc. personnel and do not make final matchmaking or coaching decisions on their own.

Where a call or meeting is recorded and processed by an AI note-taking tool, the recording and any transcript or summary it generates are treated the same as the other Profile Content and Materials described above, and are subject to the same retention and deletion practices.

Advertising and Analytics Partners

Our website uses analytics and advertising technologies supplied by third parties, including measurement tags and pixels placed by advertising platforms. These technologies may collect device identifiers, browser type, IP address, pages viewed, referring source, and actions taken on the site such as form submissions or checkout completion. This information is used to measure the performance of our marketing, to understand how visitors use the site, and to present our advertising to relevant audiences on other platforms.

Under certain state privacy laws, the use of these technologies may be classified as sharing or selling personal information for targeted advertising purposes, even though no money is exchanged. You may limit this activity by adjusting the cookie settings in your browser, by using the advertising preference controls offered by the relevant platforms, or by contacting us at info@afterhello.com to request that we stop sharing your information for targeted advertising.

Information you provide during a consultation, an intake questionnaire, or the course of a matchmaking, coaching, or profile engagement is never disclosed to advertising platforms.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

After Hello, Inc. does not sell your name or contact information to advertisers or data brokers. In two circumstances, however, what we do may be considered a "sale" or "share" of personal information under certain state privacy laws, even though these arrangements are not comparable to data broker sales:

Referral introductions. If you are in our database, we may share a limited profile describing general characteristics but withholding your name and contact information with another matchmaker or dating professional in our Matchmaking Networks, to evaluate whether you may be a good match for one of their clients. If so, we will ask for your specific permission before sharing your full name and contact information with them. If you are introduced to their client as a result, that matchmaker may pay us a referral fee. This fee is paid only if an introduction occurs, and we do not include your religious beliefs, ethnic or racial background, or other sensitive personal information in any profile shared under this process.

Advertising and analytics. As described in the Advertising and Analytics Partners section above, our use of advertising and analytics technologies may also be considered a "sale" or "share" of personal information under certain state privacy laws, even though no money changes hands.

You have the right to opt out of either of these at any time, including in advance of any specific opportunity arising.

If you have opted out, we will not include your profile in any referral introduction to another matchmaker.

Opting out of the sale or sharing of your personal information does not affect the delivery of any matchmaking, coaching, or other service you have purchased. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide you a different level of service because you exercised this right.

How Long We Retain Your Information

We retain personal information only for as long as it serves the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer period is required by law or is necessary to resolve a dispute or enforce our agreements. Our standard retention periods are as follows: transaction, billing, and tax records, seven years from the date of the transaction; signed service agreements and related contract records, seven years following the conclusion of the engagement; client profiles, matchmaking search records, introduction history, and date feedback, three years following the conclusion of the engagement; coaching session notes, three years following the final session; Registry and Database Member profiles, retained while membership remains active, treated as inactive after twenty-four consecutive months without a response to our contact attempts, and removed once inactive; dating application login credentials, deleted within thirty days of the conclusion of the engagement; background screening results, retained only for the period necessary to make and document the eligibility decision, then securely destroyed in accordance with applicable law; marketing contact records, retained until you unsubscribe, after which a minimal suppression record is retained indefinitely; and website analytics records, retained according to the default retention period of the analytics platform, which does not exceed twenty-six months.

Information held in routine system backups is overwritten on our standard backup cycle and is purged within ninety days of removal from our live systems.

Requesting Deletion of Your Information

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time. Send your request to info@afterhello.com from the email address associated with your account, using the subject line Data Deletion Request. Please include your full name, the email address and telephone number associated with your account, and a description of the information you want removed.

We verify the identity of the requester before acting on any deletion request, which protects your information from being deleted by someone acting without your authority. Verification may require you to confirm details already held in your record. We acknowledge every request within ten business days and complete verified requests within forty-five calendar days. Where a request is complex, we may extend that period by a further forty-five days and will notify you of the extension and the reason for it.

A completed deletion request removes your profile, photographs, biography, stated preferences, matchmaking and search notes, introduction history, coaching notes, and marketing contact record from our active systems.

Certain records are retained after a deletion request, and the reasons are as follows: transaction, billing, and tax records, which we are required to keep for financial and tax compliance; signed agreements and records necessary to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim; records necessary to detect and prevent fraud, to enforce a prior termination decision, or to comply with a legal obligation; and a minimal suppression record confirming your request, which prevents your information from re-entering our systems.

Submitting a deletion request while an engagement is active will end our ability to deliver the services you purchased. A deletion request is not a cancellation request and does not by itself cancel a subscription, terminate an agreement, or entitle you to a refund. Cancellation and refunds are governed by our Terms and Conditions.

In addition to deletion, you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, request correction of information that is inaccurate, opt out of marketing communications, and opt out of the sharing of your information for targeted advertising. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide you with a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.

Notice for California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the rights described in this section, in addition to the rights described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (such as your name, email address, phone number, and postal code); commercial information (such as products or services purchased); characteristics protected under California or federal law that you choose to share with us (such as sex, marital status, or disability, where relevant to a safety screening or a coaching engagement); internet or other electronic network activity information (such as website usage and interactions with our marketing); geolocation data (such as your general location derived from your postal code); professional or employment-related information; inferences drawn from the foregoing to reflect your preferences and characteristics; and sensitive personal information as described in the Sensitive Personal Information section above. We collect each category directly from you, and, for internet activity information, automatically through the cookies and similar technologies described below.

We collect and use these categories of personal information for the business and commercial purposes described throughout this Privacy Policy, including to provide matchmaking, coaching, and related services; to process payment; to communicate with you; to maintain the security of our Site and Services; and for internal research, analytics, and compliance with legal obligations. We retain each category for the periods described in the How Long We Retain Your Information section above.

In the preceding twelve months, we have disclosed each of the categories listed above to the service providers described in the Service Providers and Third-Party Platforms section above, and to participants in our Matchmaking Networks as described in the Collaboration with Professional Matchmaking Networks section above. We have not sold personal information for money. As described in the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information section above, our use of advertising and analytics technologies may be considered a “share” of internet activity information and identifiers under the CCPA/CPRA.

Your California Privacy Rights

Right to Know: you may request that we disclose the specific pieces and categories of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it.
Right to Delete: you may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to the exceptions described in the Requesting Deletion of Your Information section above.
Right to Correct: you may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: you may direct us not to sell or share your personal information, as described in the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information section above.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: you may direct us to limit our use of your sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the Services. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond providing the Services and the limited purposes the CCPA/CPRA permits without this right applying.
Right to Non-Discrimination: we will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide you a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.
Right to Appeal: if we decline to act on your request, you may appeal by replying to our response with the word “Appeal,” and we will respond to your appeal within forty-five days.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@afterhello.com, or have an authorized agent submit a request on your behalf; we may require the agent to provide proof of authorization and may still require you to verify your own identity directly with us. We will acknowledge your request within ten business days and respond within forty-five calendar days, which we may extend once by an additional forty-five days with notice to you.
